I install programs in application sharing mode and people can use them. Administratively I love the TS because it just works. We are running Parallels on a handful of machines to test it out and so far seem to be working but I am concerned about potential performance hits since Parallels uses quite a bit more resources than Remote Desktop. The TS is running Windows Server 2003 so I am trying to decide if we want to upgrade, which is going to be costly since we really need to upgrade the hardware as well, or go with a virtual desktop solution like Parallels. We currently use a Terminal Server so our Mac users can access the accounting software, time entry, and support staff can use the PC version of Outlook. We are primarily an all Mac office (about 25 iMacs) with our accounting department using PC's. I need to make a recommendation soon and I cannot make up my mind which is a better solution for us.
